As these treatments become increasingly popular, programs have been popping up around the country to offer these medications, but not all providers are the same! Unlike others that offer consultation via impersonal online meetings, Youtherapy provides in-person, customized medical weight loss programs at our offices in Chappaqua, Scarsdale and New York City enabling patients to safely begin these programs and lose weight.
Why the buzz? GLP-1 agonists like semaglutide mimic a natural hormone called GLP-1 that regulates appetite and glucose levels in the body, which can help manage obesity and promote weight loss. GLP-1 balances insulin levels and slows down how quickly food leaves your stomach (“gastric emptying”). As a result, GLP-1 agonists help you to feel full — lowering your appetite and causing you to lose weight with much higher success rate than dieting alone.
At Youtherapy, we only write prescriptions for name-brand FDA-approved medications, not compounded versions that are supposedly similar but which in reality can be questionable in quality. The pharmacies we have relationships with do not even offer availability of these medications in compounded versions for this reason!
