Collagen Stimulators Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions? Youtherapy has the answers!

Here are some common queries many of our customers in Scarsdale and New York City have had before embarking on their collagen injections journey. If you have any others, feel free to call our offices and we’ll be happy to address them for you.

What are collagen stimulators?

Collagen stimulators help to rebuild the collagen framework by encouraging your body to build its own collagen and increasing volume. Unlike the fillers, the effect is not immediate and may take 6 months to achieve the maximum effect.

What are collagen stimulators most often used to treat?

These injections are primarily used to treat the neck, décolletage, knees and abdomen.

Can anyone have collagen stimulators?

Collagen stimulators are intended for people with healthy immune systems. Those who would not be suitable candidates include: women who are trying to conceive, are pregnant or who are breast feeding; people with known sensitivity to the active ingredients being injected; people with any infection in the area being treated; and those with autoimmune conditions.

Do collagen stimulators work immediately?

Unlike dermal fillers, the effect is not immediate. You should see some improvement after six weeks, and it may take up to 6 months to achieve the maximum effect.

How long do collagen stimulators last?

Collagen stimulators last approximately 12 to 24 months. On average, clients have an initial treatment course of 3 injection sessions to replace accumulated volume loss and then maintain it with one vial per year. This injectable service can be used in combination with fillers, lasers and other treatments to give you the very best outcome.

How long does a collagen injection treatment take?

Collagen stimulator injections are performed in our office and take anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Depending on the treatment area, Dr. Greenberg may apply a topical local anesthetic to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.

What are the potential side effects?

As with all medications and medical procedures, side effects may occur. The most common include bleeding, tenderness or pain, itching, redness, swelling and bruising at the site of the injections. These effects usually resolve within 2 to 14 days.

How much do dermal filler treatments cost at Youtherapy?

With all injectable treatments, each client must be evaluated to determine their customized treatment plan. Dermal fillers start around $625 for a half syringe and can go up from there, depending. Youtherapy is pleased to offer multi-syringe discounts. For more information, book an appointment today.
