Botox® for Hyperhidrosis

To control excessive sweating

Perspiration problems? Youtherapy can put an end to it…no sweat!

You probably know that Botox® is a popular cosmetic procedure used to reduce the appearance of facial frown lines and wrinkles. But did you know it’s also an effective treatment for excessive sweating problems? The solution in Botox — botulinum toxins – help block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat.

Botox for hyperhidrosis worked wonders for this Youtherapy client

I’ve always had a problem with excessive sweating — which not only caused me anxiety and embarrassment, the stains left their mark my clothing. I heard about Botox as a treatment for hyperhidrosis and went to Youtherapy for a consultation and eventual treatment. Am I ever glad I did…I feel positively liberated!
– Lydia A., Bronxville, NY

How does Botox for hyperhidrosis work?

It works by the way the chemical composition of Botox reacts with the chemicals in your body. Botox botulinum toxin is a neurotoxin made by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. Neurotoxins are substances that affect the structure or function of the nervous system. Botox alters the function of certain neurotransmitters. These are chemicals in the body that instruct the body to react in a certain way. Botox blocks the neurotransmitter that tells the sweat glands to activate, to control sweating in the injection area. A series of injections is administered under each armpit using extremely fine, small needles. A single treatment lasts around 4–12 months before repeat treatment is necessary.
