What to Expect at Your QWO Cellulite Reduction Treatment

Written by Katherine Henderson, Youtherapy Med Spa

You’ve definitely heard of cellulite – that dimpling and puckering on the backside and thighs that up to 92% of women experience as they age. And you might have even heard of QWO® – the first and only treatment of its kind to address these lumps and bumps non-invasively and permanently (and if not, you can read about it here!). But you might not know how we create a treatment plan to address cellulite with QWO, or what to expect at your appointment.

Your QWO treatment will start with a consultation with Dr. Greenberg at our Manhattan or Scarsdale locations. We’ll go over your medical history, and make sure that there aren’t any reasons why you shouldn’t receive QWO, such as an allergy to any of its ingredients or certain connective tissue issues.

How Does QWO Work?

QWO works by dissolving the twisted bands of tissue that form as we age, which pull on the skin and cause those unsightly lumps and bumps. That means we inject QWO right into those dimples, to target those fibrous bands and release them. So it takes an expert eye and a thorough discussion with our patient to decide which and how many cellulite dimples need to be treated to give them the best results possible.

How Long Do QWO Treatments Require?

The full QWO treatment will take 9 weeks to complete. Each dimple will be injected 3 times, over 3 appointments, spaced 3 weeks apart. At the beginning of every treatment, we will assess the area of concern and confirm the location of the dimples, and use a medical marker to circle the treatment areas. The doctor will prepare the QWO injections depending on the size and area of the dimples, and then carefully inject each dimple. Most patients will begin to see smoothing even after the first treatment but it takes all three before the best results appear. And once those dimples are gone, they’re gone for good.

The best time to get started with your QWO treatments is right now! Beginning a treatment course in the fall or winter will make sure you’ll get your full results by the time shorts & swimsuit season rolls back around. So don’t wait – contact us to book a complimentary consultation with Dr. Greenberg now!
