How does IPL therapy work?

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-laser therapy that involves shining highly concentrated and intense beams of light intermittently on the surface of the skin. Photo refers to the beam of light, and facial refers to the face and/or neck region. The pulses of light target pigment and vascular irregularities, smoothing out the skin’s tone and texture. IPL therapy is not to be confused with laser therapy. Whereas laser therapy uses one particular wavelength of light, IPL therapy produces a spectrum of light.

IPL therapy safe?

When performed correctly by a certified, experienced technician, IPL therapy is both safe and effective. At Youtherapy, we will not perform any procedures without first assessing: your complete medical history; your current health condition; and any potential you may have for complications. Additionally, we provide all clients with protective eyewear that must be worn during treatment.

What conditions can IPL treat?

IPL is primarily used to treat sun-damaged or rosacea-prone skin.

How long is a typical treatment?

A typical treatment can last anywhere from 20-30 minutes. Because there is little or no downtime, you can have an IPL treatment during your lunch break.

How many treatments will I need?

The ideal number of treatments will depend upon your skin and the issues you wish to address. We usually book a series of five treatments for you to achieve optimum results.

How much does IPL therapy cost at Youtherapy?
